Well, if my experience on the subject has taught me anything (and it most certainly has), it is that the bullet will find its way deep inside the colon.
Once there, it will find a nice warm little spot where it will settle down, get married, and raise a family. The family will include little baby 22 caliber bullets which are less damaging, but much tastier.

Well it all depends on the volume and density of shit in the way of the projectile. If the individual has only has a light lunch then it is very possible that the bullet will cleanly exit leaving only superficial damage to the rectum. With plastic surgery and physical therapy the individual will go on to lead a fulfilling life. Will only minor discomfort and embarrassment.
