I'd definitely want to shape-shift other matter because if you think about it you could really get rich doing that. For example, you could take a regular every day object like a piece of feces and shift its shape into a piece of feces made of solid gold. Then you could start up a business doing that, shapeshifting poop into gold for people and charge them 20 bucks a pop. Over time word of mouth would get around and you could be making upwards of $200 per day. With that kind of money rolling in you could pay off your mortgage 5 years early and hopefully even retire by the nice young age of 55. That's what I call the american dream.
This is a great question... A tough decision though indeed. I think it would be awesome to shapeshift myself into a bear or even a elephant. So that at random times I can hunt in the wilderness. It wouldn't be animals that I hunt though, it would be people. And the police would be looking for an animal. And not a human that can shapeshift into an animal. Perfect.
As for the objects, that would be sweet too, because you could shapeshift someones vehicle that they're driving into a giant crocodile and they'd be like... "Oh Shoot!", but it would be too late. I would imagine you could also do very well when it comes to magic tricks... For example you could have a volunteer come up to the stage, and tell the audience that this volunteer is going to turn into a dove in 3... 2... 1... (DOVE). This would probably only work once, because if you didn't shapeshift the individual back into his humanoid form, the cops would be after you and want to know what happened to the individual. I guess you could just shapeshift chairs and stuff as a magic trick, and have quite the career in Las Vegas doing that. Could be the next David Copperfield. Or even Criss Angel. Except the shapeshift magic would be real... as opposed to fake tricks.
Either way though, that would be some fun stuff. I would enjoy being able to do either.
